SAFEGUARDED TRADE SERVICE

A planned service, shown upfront.

CardQuay does not take a share of a Direct Deal payment. Safeguarded Trade remains in development, so its proposed service prices are not currently charged.

AUSTRALIAPLAIN LANGUAGEUPDATED 10 SEPTEMBER 2026
Direct Deals have no CardQuay service charge

The buyer pays the card price, postage and any agreed insurance directly to the seller. CardQuay records the transaction but does not collect, hold or deduct from the card payment.

Safeguarded Trade is not currently available

The planned workflow and price tiers remain published for transparency. Purchase, trade, service-fee and Extra Cover checkout controls are disabled until operational testing is complete. No launch date is promised.

1. Safeguarded Trade service prices

If the service launches in its current planned form, the price would be based on the card price shown when the buyer begins the Safeguarded Trade:

  • Up to A$500: A$25
  • Above A$500 and below A$2,000: A$50
  • A$2,000 and above: A$100

These are proposed prices, not a current offer to provide the service. Final availability and checkout terms will be shown before any future payment.

2. What the service includes

The planned workflow has the seller send the card to CardQuay. CardQuay would compare its visible condition and identifying details with the listing, then tell the buyer whether it appears consistent with the seller's description. If the buyer proceeds, the buyer would pay the card price directly to the seller and CardQuay would forward the card to the buyer.

The proposed A$50 and A$100 service levels include AusPost Express postage from CardQuay to the buyer. The proposed A$100 level also includes premium protective packaging.

3. What the service does not include

CardQuay does not authenticate or guarantee authenticity. If a card appears suspicious, CardQuay may provide an observation and ask the buyer whether to proceed, but that observation is not an expert authentication or warranty. Insurance is not included and, if requested, is paid separately by the buyer.

4. Buyer non-payment

Cancellation, buyer non-payment, card return and service-price refund rules are still being operationally tested. Binding terms will be shown before a future Safeguarded payment. Existing sandbox beta records are retained only for testing and audit.

5. Accounts, listings and trades

CardQuay does not currently charge to open an account, publish a standard listing or complete a Direct Deal. Card-only trades and any cash difference for a Direct Trade remain directly between members. The planned Safeguarded swap process is not currently available.

6. Taxes and future paid features

CardQuay is not currently registered for GST. Members remain responsible for their own tax and reporting obligations. Future paid exposure or membership features, if introduced, will be optional and priced separately before activation; they will not create a percentage charge on Direct Deal payments.
