CARDQUAY GUIDE
How CardQuay works.
A practical guide to collecting, listing and completing recorded deals with other Australian collectors.
BEFORE YOUR FIRST DEAL
Set up once. Move faster later.
Complete the information CardQuay needs before a transaction reaches a time-sensitive step.
Sellers need an active PayID or bank method and at least one tracked postage option.
Keep notifications enabled so seller confirmations, payments and dispatch requests are not missed.
Buying a card
Direct Deal is the live purchase method during beta.
- 1
Find the right card
Search and filter the market, review every image, read the condition notes, postage choices and seller profile.
- 2
Ask before committing
Use Message seller for questions. Use Make offer only for a cash offer, or Trade when you want to exchange cards.
- 3
Start a Direct Deal
Buy now reserves the listing while the seller confirms that the exact card is still available.
- 4
Choose postage and your address
After seller confirmation, select one of the listed tracked postage options and confirm the saved delivery address.
- 5
Pay the seller directly
Use the PayID or bank details released inside the transaction. Check the recipient, then upload private payment evidence.
- 6
Follow dispatch
The seller confirms cleared funds before your address is released. Tracking and postage evidence then appear in My Purchases.
- 7
Confirm and review
Confirm receipt only after the card arrives. Leave accurate feedback once the transaction is complete.
Listing and selling
Accurate photos and disclosure are part of the transaction evidence.
- 1
Complete seller setup
Save at least one active receiving method and one tracked postage option before publishing a sale or trade listing.
- 2
Photograph the actual card
A clear front and back are required. Add close-ups for marks, corners, surfaces, labels or slab damage.
- 3
Choose the listing purpose
Keep it Collection only, list it for sale, open it to trade, or allow both sale and trade.
- 4
Describe it accurately
Use a searchable title, the correct category and condition, and disclose defects or uncertainty before publishing.
- 5
Reconfirm every request
When a buyer starts a deal, check the card again and confirm the receiving and postage information before payment.
- 6
Check funds and dispatch
Do not rely on a screenshot. Confirm cleared funds in your own account, then use tracked postage and upload evidence.
Building a trade
Offers can include multiple cards on both sides and one direct cash difference.
- 1
Build the full proposal
Choose cards from both collections and add no more than one cash difference. User-entered values are not verified by CardQuay.
- 2
Send or counter
The other collector can accept, decline or counter with a revised card and cash combination.
- 3
Confirm the same terms
A trade moves forward only when both collectors accept the same recorded proposal.
- 4
Use Direct Trade
Direct Trade is the currently available method. Each collector sends their cards directly to the other member.
- 5
Record cash and tracking
Any cash difference is paid directly to the other member. Both sides record shipment and tracking inside CardQuay.
- 6
Confirm both deliveries
The trade completes only after both collectors record receipt. Report problems from the transaction record.
Messages, offers and notifications
Each tool has a different purpose. Keeping the discussion and actions in CardQuay creates a clearer record.
Ask questions and reference a live listing. Removing a conversation from your view does not erase the platform evidence record.
A cash offer changes the proposed purchase price. It is separate from Build a Trade and may be accepted, declined or countered.
Transaction and account updates appear beside Messages. Open the notification to reach the relevant action, then mark it read.
Who is responsible for what?
This summary explains the product workflow. The Terms of Use and applicable Australian law remain controlling.
Check, pay and confirm carefully.
- Review the listing, images, condition and seller information.
- Check the recipient before making a direct payment.
- Keep payment, packaging and delivery evidence.
- Confirm receipt only after the card arrives.
Own, describe and fulfil accurately.
- List only cards you own and may legally transfer.
- Disclose defects, alterations and uncertain details.
- Confirm cleared funds in your own account.
- Package securely and provide genuine tracking.
Connect members and preserve the record.
For a Direct Deal, CardQuay provides the marketplace, workflow, notifications and evidence record. CardQuay does not receive the card price, operate a wallet, authenticate the card or guarantee either member's performance.
Consumer rights depend partly on whether the seller acts privately or in trade or commerce. Rights that apply under Australian law cannot be removed by this guide or the Terms.

Safeguarded Trade is a preview, not an active checkout.
CardQuay Safeguarded Trade is still being built and tested. The planned process is shown for transparency, but new Safeguarded purchases, trades and service-fee payments are not currently available.
If something goes wrong
Keep the issue attached to the listing or transaction whenever possible.
Quick answers
Does CardQuay hold the card payment?
No. In the currently available Direct Deal, the buyer pays the seller by PayID or bank transfer after the seller confirms availability.
Does CardQuay guarantee a Direct Deal?
No. CardQuay records the workflow and may review conduct, but does not guarantee payment, dispatch, delivery, condition or authenticity.
Can I use Safeguarded Trade now?
No. It remains visible so members can understand the planned service, but its purchase and trade controls are disabled while testing continues.
What happens when I hide a chat or transaction?
It is removed from your personal view. CardQuay retains evidence records needed for the other member, safety, disputes and legal obligations.
